Green stuff...
The Alley likes to try and do their bit for the environment. We're absolutely not perfect by any means, but we attempt grow potatoes (didn't turn out very well if I'm honest), try and use eco-label washing up liquid and make sure our packaging is recycled. Even the gift ribbon is made from wood pulp.
We are now in the process of switching all our cards to recycled papers and envelopes with biodegradable wrappers that can be composted. Where possible, supplies and materials are natural and as local as we can manage.
The wax used for the hand-poured vintage tea party candles is soy-based, rather paraffin which is less harmful to manufacture and burn.
Nearly all of the fabric used is a remnant, vintage or recycled/upcycled textiles that would otherwise be destined for the bin. This often directs the design as we try to work around what has been found and not what I can buy in.
